The Blazin' M Ranch has been rustlin' up good times and hearty laughs since 1994, when Dan and Lori Mabery first opened the gates to share their love of cowboy culture and Arizona hospitality. What started as a small family dream has grown into one of the Verde Valley's most beloved Western experiences.

In 2021, Ryan and Leila Glass saddled up and took the reins, carryin' on the Maberys' legacy with pride while bringin' their own brand of frontier spirit to every show and supper.

From the very first show, folks were entertained by Chuck Mabery, Dan's father, who served as the original master of ceremonies, bringin' humor and genuine cowboy charm to the stage. The heart of the ranch was always the music — longtime favorites Jim and Jeannie Martin, whose harmonies created unforgettable memories. The sweet aroma of fresh-baked pies drifting from the kitchen was thanks to Lori's mother, Grandma Lou, whose homemade desserts were legendary among ranch guests.

Today, the tradition rides on with the new Blazin' M Ramblers band — where the West still lives, family traditions are celebrated, and every night's a hoedown to remember.

Our Story

32 Years of History

1993

Dan & Lori Mabery establish the Blazin' M Ranch in Cottonwood, AZ — a family dream rooted in genuine love of cowboy culture and Arizona hospitality.

1994

The gates open to the public. The first show features Chuck Mabery as original master of ceremonies. The ranch's name is born from a fire in the lower field that same year — "Blazin' M."

2000s

Jim and Jeannie Martin become beloved regulars on the Blazin' M stage. Grandma Lou's homemade pies become legendary. The ranch earns a reputation as the Verde Valley's most cherished western experience.

2012

A fire destroys the caretaker's residence in January. The ranch rebuilds and comes back stronger — the resilient spirit of the West on full display.

2021

Ryan and Leila Glass purchase the Blazin' M Ranch from the Mabery family, carrying forward 31 years of tradition while adding their own frontier energy to every show.

Today

The Blazin' M Ramblers light up the stage for packed houses on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Over 10,000 five-star reviews across Google, Facebook, and TripAdvisor. Still family owned. Still the real deal.

Do you give military discounts? ▶

We proudly support the United States Armed Forces and happily offer discounts to card-holding (active or retired) service members. Ask when you place your reservation over the phone or at the ticket booth.

Is there a show-only price if I don't want to eat? ▶

Admission is the same whether or not you eat — it covers the western town, Wood 'n' West gallery, dinner, and the show. If you only want the show, or want to leave after activities, that's fine — but the price is the same for everyone.

Are there extra charges for outdoor activities? ▶

Included in admission: Ropin', axe throwing, shooting gallery, and the museum.
Pay as you go: Old-Tyme Photo Studio, Cowboy Hat Making, 9-Hole Putt-Putt Golf, and Escape Room.

Does your food contain nut products? ▶

Our food does not contain nut products. Some ingredients may have come from a factory where nuts were used. The Copper Spur Saloon does serve popcorn on request — there's a warning sign by the door.

Do you offer gluten-free options? ▶

Almost all of our food is gluten-free except cornbread, gravy, and mac & cheese — and we offer a gluten-free dessert! Please let us know when making your reservation. Because we serve a set menu, we allow guests to bring in necessary food at no reduction in ticket cost.

Do you have a vegetarian option? ▶

Yes! We offer mixed greens with a grilled portobello mushroom alternative in place of chicken and ribs. Please request it when making your reservation so our chuckwagon chefs can prep it for you.

Can we bring our own food? ▶

Yes. While we accommodate certain dietary needs, we can't always suit them all. Feel free to bring food of your choosing and supplement with set menu items you can eat. The ticket cost is the same regardless.

Can we get the meat without seasoning? ▶

Our chuckwagon supper comes lightly seasoned with a small amount of BBQ sauce — you can request it without. The amount of additional BBQ sauce is up to you!

Do I have to pay for drinks? ▶

Your Chuckwagon Dinner comes with complimentary iced tea, lemonade, coffee, and water. You can also purchase beverages at our full-service Copper Spur Saloon or at the bar during dinner.

📅 Planning Your Visit

Do we need to dress western style? ▶

Western wear is not required, but encouraged! Wear something comfortable and weather-appropriate with comfortable walking shoes — the frontier town is an outdoor attraction. We recommend a coat (except in summer) as it can get nippy along the Verde River, which runs about 10° cooler than town.

Do we need to check in anywhere? ▶

All guests — with or without reservations — must check in at the ticket booth upon arrival. This is how seating is arranged and dinner & show tickets are claimed.

What if I'm running late? ▶

Gates open at 5:00 PM but dinner doesn't start until 6:30. A few minutes won't hurt. If you're significantly late, please call ahead — we can reschedule your reservation for a better time.

Is the show inside or outside? ▶

Both dinner and the award-winning western show are held indoors in our climate-controlled barn. Activities are outdoors in the frontier town.

What if the weather turns bad? ▶

No worries! All shops are indoor establishments, and dinner and the show are indoors. Rain or shine, we've got you covered.

Should I bring a jacket? ▶

Always a good idea — Arizona nights can get cold, and the show doesn't end until around 8:45 PM. We're along the Verde River which runs about 10° cooler than town.

Can I request a special table? ▶

Seating is first-come-first-served with the exception of certain groups and guests with special seating needs. VIP ticket holders receive priority seating.

Can I use flash photography? ▶

Cameras and recorders are welcome at any time — on the grounds and during the show. We just ask that continuous lighting not be used during the show.

Are your shops open after the show? ▶

All activities, shops, and the museum do not reopen after the show. Plan to arrive at 5:00 PM to make the most of your evening!

Is the Blazin' M Ranch wheelchair accessible? ▶

Yessiree! All ranch facilities and attractions are accessible for wheelchairs and scooters.

Do you have seating for people with back issues? ▶

The barn now features chair seating for all guests.

Is assistance available in the serving line? ▶

Absolutely! Let one of our ranch-hands know you need assistance and they'll be happy to help. We also assist guests with small children in the dinner line.

Do you allow pets? ▶

Due to our classification as a food-serving establishment, we can only allow licensed service animals.

Is smoking allowed? ▶

Smoking is only permitted outside all buildings — in compliance with Arizona state law requiring a minimum of 20 ft. from any entrance. We have "butt buckets" around the ranch for smokers' convenience.

What is your cancellation policy? ▶

NO REFUNDS once tickets are purchased unless Trip Protection is purchased at the time of your original purchase.

Rebooking: You may adjust reservation dates or remove guests more than 24 hours before your show. Within the 24-hour window, a $10/booking rebooking fee applies.

Trip Protection: Full refunds granted if cancellation is requested more than 24 hours before your reservation (prior to 5PM the day before). Within 24 hours, a gift card refund may be issued at the owner's discretion.

🏡 About the Ranch

Are you locally owned and operated? ▶

You bet! Ryan Glass and family purchased the Blazin' M Ranch in 2021 from the Mabery family, who owned and operated the chuckwagon dinner and show for the previous 31 years.

How big is the ranch? ▶

The original homestead was 30 acres. Over 40+ years, Arizona State Parks (Dead Horse Ranch State Park) purchased 20 acres from the Maberys, in addition to the 400 acres that make up the balance of the park.

What is your capacity? ▶

Our climate-controlled barn seats up to 280 guests. It's a great spot for parties, weddings, and private events. Contact our Group Director for large group inquiries.

Are you ever closed for an extended period? ▶

The Blazin' M Ranch is closed for Christmas, Thanksgiving, the entire month of January, and the entire month of August for remodeling, repairs, and restorations. We reopen in February and September respectively — reservations can be placed during closure.

Is your show pre-recorded? ▶

Never! All shows are performed live on stage right in front of you. We're the real deal.

Does your show ever change? ▶

We have special shows periodically throughout the year for holidays and special events — including our annual Holiday Hoedown featuring cowboy Christmas music and storytelling.

What wildlife can I expect to encounter? ▶

The ranch sits on the banks of the Verde River surrounded by State Park land — home to squirrels, javelina, bobcats, ring-tailed cats, raccoons, and even deer! We also have a nice little bunch of ranch animals. (Penelope the Potbellied Pig reportedly throws parties with the ponies after hours, but we can't confirm this.)

What is the Wood 'n' West Gallery? ▶

A one-of-a-kind-in-the-world display of life-long creations by a master woodcarver — hand-carved miniatures set in historical scenes, mechanized with electro-magnets and pulleys designed to move before your very eyes. A must-see during your visit!

Do you offer horseback riding? ▶

We don't offer horseback riding on the ranch, but we're happy to direct you to horseback riding activities in the Verde Valley area!
